    Premier Petsitting

    Policies & Procedures

    Pet Care Services
Premier Petsitting will perform pet care services as outlined in Client and Pet Profiles and Policies & Procedures.

    Duration of Visits
Basic petsitting visits will be for at least 30-45 minutes, depending on your pet's needs, additional services requested and petsitter's schedule.  If schedule is lighter than usual, extra TLC time will be given.  Overnight visits are guaranteed the hours of 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM, minimum, with more time being given if petsitter's schedule allows, and include an AM and PM visit.

    Number of Daily Visits
Client will request the number of visits per day and Premier Petsitting will honor that request, but please note:  indoor-only dogs must be seen at least two times per day and in the case of puppies (under 6 months), indoor-only geriatric dogs or crated dogs, a minimum of three visits per day are required.

    EOD (Every Other Day) Visits
Premier Petsitting does not do EOD visits.  All pets must be seen at least once a day to ensure their safety and well being.

    Visiting Hours
Normal visiting hours are 7:00 AM until 8:00 PM.  Premier Petsitting may be able to accommodate special requests outside of these hours, but an extra charge may apply.

    Time of Visits
Premier Petsitting will honor your requested visit time(s) as closely as possible, but reserves the right to arrange each day's schedule according to specific pet care needs.  This petsitting service is very mindful of indoor-only dog needs for regular outside (potty) time.

    Weather Extremes
Georgia has its share of extreme weather.  Your pet's care and safety is Premier Petsitting's main concern and their well being is always first and foremost.  Extra care will be taken during extremely hot or cold weather.  During severe weather conditions such as flooding or tornadoes, Premier Petsitting will ensure that your pets and home are safe and secure as soon as it is safe to travel, and will advise you of any damage and try to prevent any further damage.  During winter months, when ice storms are a possibility, it is a good idea to have an extra supply of pet food and bottled water on hand for our furry friends.

    Licenses / Vaccinations
Client will attest to the fact that all licenses and vaccinations required by the State of Georgia, the City in which you reside and/or the County of Douglas are current according to the law.

    Unsecured Pets
Premier Petsitting is not responsible for and will not be liable for free-roaming outdoor pets in the event of any fines, illness, injury, loss or death.  This includes pets that are secured with invisible fencing.  It is strongly advised that all pets have some form of permanent identification and that they remain inside the home or confined to a yard or pen for their own safety and welfare in your absence.

    Emergency Vet Care
Client will authorize Premier Petsitting to obtain any emergency veterinary care that may be necessary during the time spent with your pet.  Client will accept responsibility for any charges related to this emergency care.  It is recommended that Client inform their veterinarian that their pets will be in the care of Premier Petsitting.  Client will also authorize Premier Petsitting to utilize an alternative veterinarian in the event the primary veterinarian is unavailable.  Every effort will be made to contact the owner prior to obtaining emergency care.  Client will release Premier Petsitting from any and all liabilities related to transportation, treatment and expense.

    Keys
Premier Petsitting will obtain your house key during the initial visit when service is scheduled and agreements are signed.  Two (2) keys are requested so that one can be kept as a back up key in a locked key box.  Keys will be returned within 7 days of the end of your service, either in person or by certified mail.  It is recommended your key remain in the possession of Premier Petsitting for convenience in the event of future use of this service and to enable telephone reservations, thus avoiding future key pick up charges ($10.00).  A Ready Key form is available for your signature should you choose to take advantage of this offer.

    Reservations
It is best to plan a couple of weeks in advance in order to obtain services for the dates you desire.  Premier Petsitting can only schedule a limited number of pet sits and availability is at a premium during the busy summer months and holidays.  An in-home interview is required prior to reservations for all new clients.  While Premier Petsitting can tentatively pencil in your dates, the petsitter must meet you and your pet(s) and assess your needs before making a commitment to providing your pet care.  During this initial meeting, forms and the contract will be reviewed and signed.

    Telephone Reservations
This option is provided in lieu of repeating the process of the initial meeting, further signed contracts or additional authorization, and requires your key to be on file.  Your reservation and deposit of 50% of the total must be received 5 days in advance of your departure date.  The balance is due within 10 days of the end of service.

    Reservation Confirmation
Always directly confirm your reservation with Premier Petsitting 3 days prior to service by phone to ensure the uninterrupted care of your pet(s).

    Extended Absence
It is understood that if pet owner's absence must be extended, Premier Petsitting requires direct confirmation for the unscheduled visits.  This is to avoid the possibility of missed messages, which could result in interrupted care of pet(s).

    Emergencies (Pet Owner)
Feel free to call if an unexpected need arises.  While Premier Petsitting will make every attempt to accommodate your needs, availability on short notice is dependent on current schedule.  This petsitting service networks with other area sitters for this reason and if I cannot fulfill your emergency pet care needs, I will try to help you contact a competent, professional pet caregiver who can.

    Emergencies (Petsitter)
A copy of your emergency contact information will be carried with the petsitter in the event of any unexpected accident or illness.  Please be sure this information is current and that the designated emergency contact has access to your home to ensure your pet(s) will receive uninterrupted care should the need arise.

    Cancellations
Cancellations may be made up to 3 days in advance of your scheduled service and any deposit will be credited to your account.  If canceling less than 3 days prior to your scheduled departure, Premier Petsitting retains the full amount of this deposit.

    "I'm Home" Calls
Please remember to call when you have returned home safely.  Premier Petsitting will continue to visit your pet(s) until this call has been received in order to assure their safety and well being.  Additional trips will be added to your bill.  You may call at ANY hour and leave a voice mail message that you have returned.

    Fees / Payment
Fees are earned upon acceptance of petsitting reservations and are due as follows:  50% of estimated cost at time of reservation and balance due within 10 days of return.  No refunds will be given for canceled visits once time has been reserved.  Payment may be made by cash or personal check (made payable to Premier Petsitting).  There is a $10 late fee applied if balance owed is not paid by due date.  A fee of $25 will apply to all returned checks and Client is responsible for all costs of collection.  If Client arrives home early, Client has the right to decide if Premier Petsitting should continue pet care for the contracted period of time, but it is understood that full payment is still due, as Premier Petsitting has reserved this time in order to care for your pet(s).

    Reimbursement for Unexpected Fees
It is expected that pet owner will provide more than adequate amounts of food, litter, treats, medications and other items needed for complete care of their pets.  If the petsitter must replenish supplies during the contracted period of time, a $10.00 charge will apply in addition to reimbursement for said supplies.  Client agrees to reimburse Premier Petsitting for any additional fees for providing emergency care, as well as any expenses incurred for unexpected visits, transportation, housing, food or supplies.

    Holiday Fees
Holiday seasons are hectic for everyone -- make your reservations early.  There is an additional fee of $5.00 per visit on these holidays:  New Years Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Years Eve.

Security of Premises / Access to Home By Others
Premier Petsitting accepts no responsibility for security of the premises, any damages, loss, or injuries to your home or pet(s) if incurred directly or indirectly by the actions or negligence of other individuals who may have access to the home during the term of this agreement.  Client must notify Premier Petsitting if others (friends, family members, service technicians, etc.) will have access to the home during an absence by the owner.  Pet care will be performed only by Premier Petsitting during all assignments unless prearranged with Client.

    Shared Pet Care Responsibility
If Premier Petsitting agrees to "job share" the pet care requirements, it is understood that Premier Petsitting cannot be held liable for any services that are not completed to your satisfaction.  A great deal of confusion and misinformation can occur when sharing the care of your pet, and your pet (or home)  may suffer the consequences.  Some situations to consider are:  over feeding or missed meals, over medicating or missed medications, unlocked doors, missed visits that result in your pet being left inside or outside too long.

    Other Services
Services that are included at no extra charge include bringing in mail, newspapers and packages, alternating blinds and lighting, watering plants and taking trash to curb on pick-up day.  There may be other minor services that Premier Petsitting could provide -- just ask!

    Property Damage
It is the pet owner's sole responsibility to "pet-proof" any areas of the home and/or property to which the pet has access.  This includes thoroughly inspecting fences, gates, latches, doors and other devices (including crates) meant to contain the pet or restrict access to specific areas.  This petsitter does not assume responsibility and has no liability for any injuries the pet may sustain or property damage the pet may cause while in its own home/property.  It is expressly understood that Premier Petsitting shall not be held responsible for any damage to Client's property, or that of others, caused by Client's pets during the period in which they are in its care.  Client has advised Premier Petsitting of all situations, which will relieve it of liability for damage.

    Claims / Liability
Premier Petsitting agrees to provide services in a professional, reliable, trustworthy and caring manner.  In consideration of these services, the Client expressly waives and relinquishes any and all claims against Premier Petsitting, its employees or assigns, except those arising from proven negligence of the petsitter.

Medical Expense / Damages / Aggressive Pets
Client will be responsible for all medical expenses and damages resulting from an injury to the petsitter or other persons by the pet.  Client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Premier Petsitting in the event of a claim by any person injured by the pet.  Client also agrees that it is their responsibility to notify Premier Petsitting of any pet that has ever caused an injury to any human.  If a pet has a history of biting or other aggressive behavior, Premier Petsitting reserves the right to refuse service.  Bites must be reported to the local authorities as provided by law.  The Client will be liable for the caregiver's medical care expenses and damages that result from an animal bite.
