    Solutions! Pet Services

    Prices & Services

Private dog training is offered in Orange County and parts of Los Angeles and Riverside Counties. Group classes are offered in Stanton.

Pet sitting is offered in Anaheim, Fullerton, and Brea. Please contact for more info and prices for pet sitting. I watch dogs, cats and various other animals. I know how important people's pets are and will take exemplary care of yours.

Read below to discover the differences between group and private training. If you still don't know which form of training is best for you and your pet, please contact the dog trainer, Jamie Lurtz, at 714 404 9314 or SolutionsPets@aol.com.

    Private Training
Training sessions are customized on a case-by-case basis and done at your home. Prices are determined by the number of sessions. What is learned in the session is determined by what the owner would like the pet to learn, the owner's dedication to working with the pet, the complexity of the task, and the pet's ability to learn it. After a phone consultation, I will help you to determine how many sessions would be necessary in your individual case. The recommendation may change after meeting the pet. Also covered is information for the owner on how to deal with new situations involving their pet. Things taught include; animal knowledge (proper diet & exercise, pool safety, acceptance of a new baby, getting a new puppy, and first visit to a dog park), basic obedience (sit, stay, come, name recognition, down, loose leash walking, recall, targeting, go to place, stand, wait, take it, and leave it), and behavioral problems (house training, jumping, nipping, unruly behavior, begging, chewing, digging, and barking).

Additional charges may apply for travel to areas outside of Orange County. Please call (714 404 9314) or email for more info. I look forward to meeting you and your pet!

    # of Sessions  1 Dog  2 Dogs
    1 $80 $105
    4 $300 $400
    6 $425 $575

Payment is due in full at the start of the first session. Individual package sessions average at an hour in length. Multiple dog sessions run closer to an hour and a half. Single session price with no continuation is at an hourly rate.

    Group Classes
Group classes start almost every month, run six weeks, and take place at Crossroads Pet Resort in Stanton. October 27 is the next start date for both adult and puppy classes. Each class is approximately one hour in length. Dogs should be brought to each class. All classes are taught using positive reinforcement based methods, no harsh methods are used.

The cost for the class is $99 prepaid. Pre-enrollment is required. To enroll in the class please contact Crossroads Pet Resort directly. For any questions regarding the class itself contact Jamie Lurtz at 714 404 9314 or SolutionsPets@aol.com.

Puppy Class - Proper socialization is one of the most important things you can do for your puppy, the earlier you start socializing your puppy the better. This is a fun off leash class. Your puppy will be able to interact with a wide variety of people and other puppies. Priorities for the class are bite inhibition (gentle mouth), socialization to other dogs and people, and basic obedience. Puppies from 9 weeks to 5 months welcome.

    Adult Group Class breakdown:

Week 1 - Focus, Release (OK), Sit, and we go over gentle restraint and handling.
Week 2 - Review of prior week's teachings, Down, Loose Leash Walking
Week 3 - Review of prior week's teachings, Take It/ Leave It
Week 4 - Review of prior week's teachings, Recall, Discussion: on Door Dashing
Week 5 - Review of prior week's teachings, Stay, Discussion: on Doorway Manners, Jumping On Guests, and Go To Place
Week 6 - Graduation! Review and then Fun and Games
    Items needed for class:

    Payment
A hungry dog wearing a plain collar, gentle leader, or harness (Please no prong collar, choke chains or retractable leashes.)
    Current Vaccination records
Food Treats - These need to be something your dog really likes cut into small (pea sized) pieces.
You may bring a clicker if you wish to use one or would line to learn how.
During the final weeks of class a long line will be needed to teach recall. I will give you more info about this in class.
Family participation in training is great for the dog's learning and increases their retention of obedience. However, you are the best judge as to whether your child is mature enough to participate in class and not be a disruption to others. Safety is our number one concern for all participants.
