We have lived in Rosenberg, Texas for over 15 years and have also been involved in pet care for over 20 years. We were active in Old English Sheepdog Rescue for many years, and occasionally foster an OES awaiting a forever home.
We are owned by 6 dogs, all of them rescues. Allowing us to share their home is Devon, Poopsie (Lady Jane Poopsmore, because she did as a pup), Murphy, Blue, Sam and Dixie. They also allow us to sleep on the bed, in between them. They do the "take turns" option, and we always have several to cuddle with.
Devon and Poopsie were fosters who decided to stay here. Murphy was found wandering the streets and weighed 40 lbs (now at 80 lbs). Blue showed up at a friend's garage sale and wouldn't leave. How could I have just left him there? Sam was a 6-week-old give-away in the Walmart parking lot along with his two sisters. They all came home for fostering and placement, and again Sam decided to stay. We found loving homes for his sisters. Dixie was also a "street" dog, and a good samaritan took her in and called me. Once again, the story remains the same --- she decided to stay. She is my "soul mate".
They all love being with their humans, and all pile into the computer room when I am working. The floor always has many gray/white furry rugs, with several black and tan ones thrown in for extra measure. We had a Security Service salesman stop by one day to sell his alarms, but he quickly admitted that we really didn't need one, since the house always explodes if someone comes to the door.
It was a logical step for me to open The Pet Butler Pet Sitting Service, and did so in 2003. I have a deep love of all animals, and my experience in fostering, behavorial modification and training for so many years has made me very adaptable to the varied personality traits that I encounter in my pet sitting service.
